Creating content from the ground up.

When you begin to do the research one of the most important things to consider is keyword use and the style of the content.

Developing content your way or the high way approach…

Creating content is all about developing quality and value.

Have you ever done any cooking, if you have you know its not easy work, if you have not, chances are you have watched someone do that cooking, now professionals make it look easy but mostly that is because they are professionals, they have done it hundreds and in some cases thousands of times.

Just like you would bake a cake there is the easy way and the hard way.

The hard way, takes longer, and you have to measure out all your ingredients, out step by step,
it takes work but in the long run, you will end up with a great tasting cake.

Skip a few steps and you could end up with a flop, it is the same way with generating traffic.

There are literally hundreds of different method of generating content by writing.

Writing, blogging, posting, there are a lot of methods of creating content online today in
fact, you can do a search for PLR material and obtain millions of text based articles.

Have you noticed that some people seem to be able to create content quickly and easily, in fact it almost seems like they can just effortlessly, create content with such little effort.

The truth is that you can do the same thing, it just requires practice.

You can create content, in fact anyone can create content, however creating great content may take practice, even the best authors, have people that edit the work they produce and since most of the writing public are not Stephen king, you cannot expect to be able to hire your own editor, or in Stevens case, allegedly fire your editor, more than once.

Writing is a process, and often that process can get interrupted, the phone rings, or the washer goes off and you have to do some work or someone rings the door bell.

These distractions are a part of life yet for the most part a professional writer does not have to deal with these issues, but as a part time writer, you do.

So, how do you as a part time writer, figure out how to be productive without having an editor and a publisher looking out for you.

Simple you have to wear a different hat, and for most people that is not as easy as it might sound.

Lets take a few minutes to think about hats…

A hat is a thing, but in this case it represents a frame of mind a place where when you enter into it you have to think differently about what you are doing when your writing, you have to wear the writers hat, which means often that you may not be considering how everything is spelled, or how the work your doing is put together, (of course if your a great writer then you do) but that is something that we learn as we go, wearing the master writers hat, is reserved for those that have been doing it for so long that they can literally put it on any time they wish.

For most of us perhaps even the rest of us, that hat changing business can be easier said than done.

So, lets talk about the steps to successfully writing and publishing, while having to put on or prepare to think differently about what your doing, for instance, the editors hat, which is probably the hardest hat to fit into to.

The editors hat.

To put on the editors hat you have to think differently, in fact you have to become a great speller and a grammar expert, a critic and you have to take the long view about what your doing, in other words, you have to look at the entire work.

That may be hard to do indeed some people find it is the hardest thing to do, because it means that you have to criticize your own work, this is usually a hard thing for most people to do, because lets face it we are human and we are proud of what we do.

However, the editor needs to put all that aside and think about the over all writing work, the editor needs to put aside that part of the writers, job and seek to analyze the entire work, read the work and see if everything is fitting together.

You have to ask does it flow, or is it choppy, by choppy we mean does it move from one topic to another, or does it jerk about from one thought to another with out making a connection.

These are all things that an editor, has to do in order to analyze the work before them, and in your case it is your own work, so that makes it harder to do, but you have to do it, so press onward, once you have your editors hat firmly on and you begin to look at the work you may see things that need to be done differently.

That is when you know your ready to edit, make a change here make a change there.

Add a little here subtract a little there and work to make it better to make it read smoothly, from topic to topic from sentence to sentence.

Yes, it is easier to say it than it is to actually do it but it takes practice, and the more you wear that editors hat the easier it is to put that hat on the next time your get ready to edit your work.

WordPress getting started

One of the most important things you can do for your peace of mind and your business is to correctly install wordpress from the beginning.

What if you got bad advice about building a home on a poor foundation, that would be bad, the same might be said of creating an installation of wordpress on a bad foundation.

Manual installation is the only way to install wordpress that will help you develop your website in the best way possible.

Lately there have been a fair few so called Gurus, out there that are giving out some very bad advice.

They are people who claim to be experts yet they know little or nothing about L.A.M.P

I find this not only a diss-service to their customers but an offense to the profession of programming and logic.

The truth is that unless you are the one who is actually installing your wordpress installation and not an automated scripting agent, you are going to have some kind of problem in the future including getting hacked.

I see people all the time telling the same story, help I got hacked, the first thing I ask them is did you manually install this software, and they always say no I used the automated installing script.

There are a number of good reasons why this is not a good idea and

It does take a little time to learn how to do it and you may have a little difficulty but the more you do it the easier it will become.

You can learn more about how to correctly install wordpress to reduce your risk in getting hacked by visiting

In many ways, life is filled with surprises but when it comes to wordpress it really does not have to be that way at all.

Learning how to install wordpress manually really is the best thing you can do for your sanity.

Web Design Mistakes

What do you think about designing websites.

Sometimes simple is better…

Do you think that a poorly functional website design can kill your business?

The truth may be Yes Yes it can

bad designs, equals money lost…

It means that you may end up with an ugly website, and even worse, it might not attract any traffic at all, because believe it or not, I have seen some truly ugly websites that actually worked well to attract traffic, but There are plenty of mistakes in the world of web design. Let’s have a look at what some of the top design mistakes that people make every day.

This is the number one biggest mistake that so many people make, it will kill you with the search engines.

1. Too Much Advertising
When you’re trying to make money from your website, it’s all too easy to overwhelm your site with ads. Put yourself in your user’s place and take a good hard look at your site and ask yourself if the ads feel intrusive.

Does the site look like an information source or does it feel more like a page-holder for the ads?

These days, if you advertise your website takes two steps backward.

2. Plugin usage.
You have to keep plugin useage to a maximum of 1 type per page. If you’ve got Flash, then you can’t have a media player, or if you’re using Java, then no Flash. It’s not as bad to use the same plugin twice, however.

So what happens if you over use plug ins, again your rating goes down..

3. Flash in websites.
Please, don’t use a Flash intro on your website. They have been so overused that they’re becoming universally mocked.

4. Unclear Layout and Navigation.
Many websites, especially business sites, suffer from some kind of disease where the very simplest task takes 10 steps. If users are asking you how to do things on your site, then you need to improve your layout and navigation. If there are certain tasks people want to do frequently, put them on the front page.

5. External links, too many…
There are 2 kinds of links: internal (to other parts of your website) and external (to other websites). For the benefit of your users, it’s best if you mark external links, either by making them a different color or using some kind of a symbol (a box with an arrow is the usual one). It’s also good to make the external links open in new windows, so people aren’t leaving your site altogether when they click them.

6. Linking errors.
Some web pages are designed to show links only when people put their mouse over them. While this might make the design look nicer, it is not very user friendly. Instead, use a clearly contrasting color for links, and preferably underline them. This makes them more visible to the user, thus more user friendly.

7.  Email Links.
Always clearly mark a link that will send email (a mailto link) with the word ‘email’. If you turn clicking a name into send email, you’ll annoy users who expected to find out more about the person.

8. Broken Links.
You should check your links regularly to make sure that they all still work. There’s nothing worse than finding a site that looks useful, only to find that it hasn’t been updated in years, so most of the links don’t work. While a website does mostly run itself after a while, that doesn’t mean that you should neglect essential maintenance.

9. Strange Fonts.
Stick to the most common web fonts: that’s pretty much just Arial, Georgia, Tahoma and Verdana. If you use more obscure fonts, then most users won’t have them — and those that do will find your text hard to read. The only place for non-standard fonts is in your logo or headings, and then only if they are displayed as an image.

10. Badly-sized Text.
It’s important to keep your text around the standard size. Making text too big or too small makes it hard to read and annoying for many users. The best thing you can do is use relative text sizing (not pixels) that allows the browser to respect the user’s preferred text size. You should also consider offering buttons on your site to decrease or increase the font size.

Sticky Adz plugin

Get the Sticky Adz WordPress plugin at wordpress.org

This great wordpress plugin will help you develop better advertising using a scrolling “sticky Frame”

Sticky Adz is more than just a method of advertising it is a concept, that correctly used can increase your clicks and revenue.  Advertising is not just a lot of flashy banners or links created to get someone to click something but it is something more than just the “in your face methods” that many have tried to use in the past.

The truth is that most of the time, these methods do not work to produce sustainable revenue.

Advertising is about producing revenue for the advertiser, if Google does not correct this issue then in the very near future the stock values for Google will take a serious tumble into the abyss.

In fact any company that does not provide real world value to an advertiser is eventually going to find that they are no longer the most popular or the most powerful force in search engines mastery, this over confidence in business development can result in a loss of revenue, simply because without a strong consumer base any business will suffer.

This is what sticky Adz is all about, developing the right kind of advertising for the website.

This concept advertising is how you can increase your websites revenue.

Providing the right type of advertising is what your job as a web master or website owner is all about.

Imagine what might happen if you were say a big company and you advertised that you could provide a certain ROI and what ended up happening was that you could not in fact provide that level of ROI, how long do you think it would take before those advertisers would stop advertising on your website?

Not long at all, that is where Google will find itself and in fact any website might find itself if they do not make some serious changes in 2012.

This may be the year that you notice a huge difference in how you do business.

Google on the war path

Do small websites even have a chance in the new Brave Google world.

Will your website business be effected by the changes at Google?

Well, you have likely heard about how google has declared war on low quality websites, it remains unclear if that means smaller mom and pop websites or if they mean those types of websites that are employing tricks to reach the top of the search engines.   Either way, it would behoove an individual to seek out the truth, in order to fully understand how this new ruling effects the websites you operate.

If, Google has decided to terminate your website because it is considered of low quality because your a little fish in a big sea then perhaps it is time to stand in line at the food bank or are there other sources of traffic?

There  have been a few who are throwing up their hands and saying, “you know it is just not worth it”  After you factor in the cost of hosting, the cost of developing a website, the cost of software, the cost to design graphics, when you add it all up and you see that as a result google has not decided that all your hard work is of low quality.

You want to say, as compared to what, a team of developers that get paid millions of dollars to develop a website?

Sadly we cannot all afford to have a million dollar budget and to advertise on google adwords, but even if we did would it do any good?

In an ecomony where the average website costs, around 150.00 per year to maintain, is there a place in the economy for that poor website owner to make a dime?

Perhaps there is and perhaps it is not with google that you should be looking for that traffic and profit.

More and more small business owners are moving away from the behemoth, that is not supporting organic traffic to small business owners, when you think about it that way you have to wonder if this particular type of move may end up costing google far more in consumer clout than they ever thought it would.

No one knows for sure how all this will likely end up, one thing for sure is that there are going to be some changes, hopefully those changes will give the small business market a leg up, that would be what I would want to do, because for the last four years, grey hatters, and black hatters have made millions off the back of a lazy search engine.

Perhaps its time for google to go after the real market that supplies 90 percent of the services to real people all over the US, that is the small business market.

original content

The Value of Content just went up…

Developing real content for the new era in Search engine results.

What you may not know about SEO and Google could be killing your website.

This website exists to help communicate the importance of developing original content that will attract organic website traffic.

It is a method of writing, blogging, posting, that has been developed by experienced writers to help you get the most out of your content.

Over the last six months we have been focusing on a method of writing that would produce good results over time.

It does require work, however, it can be done and there are tools to help you develop that content faster and with more precision than you might think. Google issued a challenge to website owners, that challenge is to create more original content and less low value content, which means a little more work on you part, however, you can do this if you really want to develop good content it is not that difficult.

One of the big challenges facing the wordpress website builder and owner is the idea that you can get a free lunch.

There is no free lunch, that is why so many that try to get ahead in google fail to continue to achieve success online.

These are what we call short cuts or tricks that tend to work for a very short time, however many so called, SEO gurus use this to trick people into buying a particular product or service with the promise that they will achieve great SEO results.

Sadly this is far from the truth.

In one of the most heart breaking examples was a fantastic website that still get huge amounts of traffic, from many different search engines.
Except Google, we hired an unknown SEO agent to do some work, for us and over time we paid a sum of money for the work they did and the result was frankly horrible, we were de-indexed by google.  We asked them what we could do to fix the issue and never received a reply, we tried everything we could do to try and get it right, but still no result, that website is still de-indexed at google yet we receive over one million hits per month from many other search engines online we provide good clean content all original.

So in effect we are being punished for a mistake someone else made while working for us.

Apparently there is no reprieve even when they claim that you can submit for reconsideration, it has not resulted in any meaningful communication between us and google, on this one website, we have no idea why they have not indexed this website it is a great website, full of exceptional content, so be careful who you choose to do work for you because apparently google does not forgive nor do they communicate with anyone for any reason.

Why Page rank is dead and why you should be celebrating.

Funeral announcement, The death of page rank,  funeral to be held later today.

Survived by his wife the web 2.0 and their children Flash and JavaScript.

While the title may be somewhat humorous, depending on your temperament, the subject should really make you think about how quickly the internet changes and how you could find yourself attending a funeral when you really might be better off celebrating.

Page rank is no longer really an effective method of measuring a webpage or websites popularity.

Why Page rank could be soon to be the subject of an obituary is something that you should pay attention to, it is a story that begs to be told but so few know of its demise that most people still think it is important.

If page rank were a dog, in dogie years, the idea and concept of page rank would be very old by now, in fact, even Google, has been hinting that they no longer really care about what is or is not ranked, yet, for the most part, many many webmasters, seem to have the strange idea that if a web page is not ranked highly it has no value and no traffic, the truth just does not reflect that.

why you should be concentrating on content instead of page rank

So if page rank is dead and even google does not really care about page rank why should you?

The answer is you should not, in fact, for the most part, it is easier to get better results on bing and yahoo then it is on google, while google will always be a force in the online world, it is not as popular as it once was and if they do not start moving from a corporate only business model then eventually when they start to loose those large corporate customers, they will begin to miss the little guys, yep the ones that made google so popular in the first place.

For the most part google has abandoned its user base in favor of large corporate clients.

So, hopefully they will realize that eventually the big corporations are not the real customer but the customer of the large corporate clients, now that is what is really important.

So now that we have determined that Page Rank is dead, what is important?

Updated content is the new page rank.

Content used to be king, but now updated content is king, and not just updated but fresh content now that is the key to your SEO, success.

Generating content is no longer enough.

Updating content is no longer enough.

You have to do a little of both, at the same time, generating unique content and updating and generating that unique content, at the same time, now that is the new key to SEO, yet so few people realize that this important thing has taken place in the long term SEO world, many people are still trying to gain SEO value through PPC and CPA but that has been a proven failure.

Updating and generating unique content then updating that content with new updated content.

Sounds confusing right, but not really, consider how an editor works, yes, thats right as an editor works he or she upgrades the content or book or article they are working on.

Editing content is not easy, it involves a process of working and usually you cannot do it all at one time you should edit that content as you go and you should edit content on a continual basis.

Edit then read it then edit it some more, always with the goal of improving that content in this way you can generate unique and updated content which is always fresh and always better than it was before you started editing that content.

Our plugin helps you update content and that is why reposting is so important, reposting is a method of blogging that allows you to eidt your content while the content is still maintained on the server.
